Chapter 17: Beauty, Chess and Movies

Hello Once Again,

What a bunch! Ha! I can’t believe it – this is totally shocking! It’s BEAUTIFUL outside. Holy cow! There is mild clouds but they are nice and white and they don’t look threatful at all…. And the SUN – YES THE ACTAUL SUN – is out, shining BIG and BRIGHT! The sky is bright blue and it’s wonderful! I love it! The snow looks really nice too, with the glow of the sun on it. Blinding, but nice. I am going to take the next few days and bast in the glory of the nice weather because sadly- they are calling for yet another blast of winter. Yes, another blizzard! I heard it is going to start Wednesday, I really, REALLY hope not tho. We have more then enough snow by now! I can handle this amount, but anymore I’ll be sending MYSELF to a nuthouse! Ha! That poor ol’ nuthouse – so many people make fun of it! God bless em’!

Anyways, how is everyone going? I’m assuming good. I’m good, I’ve been keeping myself busy (just for the fact that Thursday and Friday had me DROVE OUT OF MY MIND with the blizzard we had. I was up to Char’s last night. We had a game of chess. And guess what! I beat her! Ha! I nailed her at the first, nearly wiping out her side of the board, but somehow I lost all concentration and she wiped out some of mine. Finally we managed to get tied! (I had to get rid of some of mine to wipe her out for good…lol) We came down to each person had one knight and (of course) one king… we played with that for a bit and she started to argue that it was impossible for either to win, but I knew of of us could. So I proved it! I moved and moved, with a plan all sot out. And finally, I managed to get her knight. Now it was time to come in for the “kill”! Not long after I trapped her in the corner and BANG – CHECK and MATE! YEY! I loved it so much I jumped up and done my “chess-winning happy dance” (ok, that was a rip off of that “lotto 649 million dollar happy dance”..lol) and her dog ran in and started to jump on me.. So I stopped! HA! It was fun! Anyways, we all piled on one couch and watched a movie and ate chips! Ha! I wasn’t paying attention to the movie at all tho.. ha! Anyways, yeah! I went home at 11:30 and started to watch Madagascar – and now I will talk about what I done since then:

Madagascar(2005) – I love it! It is 100% hilarious. Ben Stiller (who played Alex the Lion) was so funny. I think someone else should have played him though. Chris Rock – you couldn’t ask for a better Marty (the zebra). He was born for this part! Ha! My personal favorite was Melman who was played by none-other then David Schwimmer. He is like one of THE BEST actors known to this earth (or at least modern day actors. It was amazing. I wish he played a more major character in the movie. Jada (who played Gloria) was surprisingly good as well. I can think of someone who should have played her but, oh well. It all came out good!

After Madagascar I watched Shark Tale. It’s starting to get old, but hey – it’s still good! I love the way the animators made the characters look a little like the actual people playing them. (Ex. Oscar looked JUST LIKE Will Smith). It was so comical. The story had a good plot to it too. It taught (or should have at lease) that people can try to look different from what they really are, but in the end, you are still the same person as you always were. And another thing was that - Don’t change who you really are just to impress someone. Be yourself, everyone likes you better when you are. So yeah! Anyways, it’s a pretty good movie and props to the crew that made it.

After that one, I watch the brand new – FLIGHTPLAN! And man, wasn’t it good! It HAS to make it into my “favorites list” and might just even make it to be the number one (for now). It is simply amazing. The actors/actresses are amazing. The movie is so suspenseful and surprisingly clean. And by that I mean there is a minimal amount of swearing/cussing. There was only one time I really noticed it actually. Goes to show all those people who says “you can’t find a good movie without swearing in it” are WRONG. Anyone that says this HAVEN’T seen Flightplan. And to anyone who says that, (about swearing in movies) you can slap this movie right in their face. Jodie Foster was amazing. The movie had to be written around her (and actually it was). Peter Sarsguaard was pretty good too. Foster played a mother who was flying her dead husband’s body home from Berlin to New York for burial. She got on the plan with her little girl (six year old daughter) and fell asleep shortly after with her by her side. When she woke up she was gone, so like anyone would started and look for her. After searching she begins to panic and goes to higher authority (the pilot) and he demands a search. After a while (of her freaking out) a “cop” (he wasn’t a cope but I can’t remember exactly what he was – but it’s basically the same thing) arrest her and keeps her in his eye because she’s freaking out everyone else on the plan. Reports from the pilot comes back saying the little girl never got on the plane and that she must have imagined it. The story keeps you going, on and on too! Which is pretty good. After the pilot tells her that her daughter is dead and she must be in a casket below. She runs away, and managed to get down in the deck of the plane to find one casket belonging to her husband. Thing is, it’s packed full of explosives. I’ll leave it at that, I pretty much ruined the movie for everyone now anyways but, it’s still amazing and everyone should watch it. Anyways, I wants to tell you all what happens but I won’t – just because I might have people on me to kill me after for ruining such an amazing movie for them! (lol).. so yeah, anyways… That’s it! Ha!

Anyways, I think this is starting to get way to long and people might not even read this now! But if you are, and did read down this far. Thanks for doing so!

So with that.. God Bless, Prayers and Cheers

~Josh

Comment on the chess game:

You forget to mention that I puposely backed myself into the corner to prove my point, and that you didn't actually get me into check. BUT it WAS a checkmate, because I couldn't move anywhere when my turn came. :P Quite an interesting turn of events eh?

Oh come on now man! I had you either way! And just to let you know Checkmate IS better then just a regular ol' Check! So either way, it was better! ha!
